This is an observation that I have noticed as a Postpartum nurse. The most
successful mom/baby's after a c-section seem to be the ones where the mom is
content to just snuggle with baby on her chest or to the side of her with
her arm encircling baby most of the time, baby may be sleepy for the first
day, but no worries, and when baby is interested baby is fed without regard
to how long or often. This is in contrast to the situation where mom is too
afraid to hold baby much (or nurses warn against it or give the impression
it is undesirable) so baby is mostly kept in the nursery or bassinet and
there are only short times when baby is taken out to try to breastfeed.
