I have a few spare moments (before my insomnia kicks in full bore, yet again
for the 3rd night in a row - I can feel it already) so thought I'd poke
around this site.Very interesting. I went checking through their 'advice'
pages 'cause I had read the clip I copied below here on LN and had to find
it again. I did (obviously because I already said I copied it below. :-) )
and had to laugh. If you substitute the word breastmilk for formula you
have the instructions for formula - and they are correct (other than the
freezer part). And just exactly what is 'prepared' breastmilk? Oh, wait!
I know - the breast is full of powdered breastmilk and you have to tell the
breasts (somehow - maybe when the baby starts nursing?) to fill with water
and mix with the powder. Maybe those folks who believe that breastmilk is
no longer nutritionally sound or needed after 6 months are right: there is
only a 6 month store of powdered breastmilk in the breasts.after that it IS
just water! Ah.the sense of humor of the sleep deprived with no baby to
blame the sleep deprivation on.sigh. :-)

Always keep prepared breast milk in the fridge or freezer if storing for
longer periods. Use refrigerated prepared breast milk within 24 hours. Use
ready to feed within24 to 48 hours of opening. Use prepared breast milk,
warmed to room temperature within an hour of opening.
