I have recently run into this. I am expecting in March and the french
immersion class I am taking was *supposed* to be 3 months but because I
moved the only one in my area lasts until May. I *was* planning on just
bringing my new daughter but have been told this won't be allowed. No one
but students faculty and staff are allowed to be there for any reason other
than coming and going. It's at a special centre and not at all affiliated
with the university. I was told the reason for the regulation is because
people were bringing their kids to the classes, like 5 or 6 of them, and it
was totally disruptive, so they had to ban all kids outright.

for the record I knew people in my former hometown who tried to bring their
babies to class and were stopped with clearly stated regulations in the
student handbook which read "children of students not permitted in building
unattended or to attend classes they are not registered for."
