I don't see that it would be a problem to refer a mother to a good website
and ask her to search that site for "low milk supply." You would not have to
mention herbs in particular.  I like the kellymom.com website but there are
others. I have a handout that I give with 5 or 6 websites.
You could also suggest mother read "Making More Milk" by West and Marasco,
perhaps even have a couple copies that moms can check out.
Mothers are capable of making their own decisions with good info.
I definitely advise mother to inform her primary providers of all OTC and
herbals she is taking in case of interactions or contraindications. She
could also discuss with a pharmacist.
I believe it is the kellymom site that has good amount of info on side
effects and contraindications.
