Greetings from North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. My name is Marina
Green and I am a registered nurse and certified lacation consultant. I am
currently working in a hospital based lactation consutant service and a
community based program where we offer a breastfeeding clinic and a peer
counselling program. I am one of the coordinators of the B.C. Baby-Friendly
Initiative. As part of the initiative myself and Frances Jones completed a
breastfeeding resource binder that was distributed to all of the health
departments and hospitals in the province. We also visited some communities
to assist in community development. Currently we are looking for another
grant to keep the baby-friendly initiative moving in B.C. I teach one of
the classes in a local community college breastfeeding program and work as
an education consultant to some other programs. I have been an LLL leader
for 6 years and have four children.
I have read some Lacnet postings in my capacity as the 1996 chair of the
education and exam committee for the IBLCE. I have just finished a three
year term as the Canadian representative to IBLCE.
I am really looking forward to this amazing communication tool - now that I
have finally figured out how to use it!
