I would scour your local area for either a Speech Therapist (who SPECIALIZES
in newborns- possibly who has NICU experience) for an evaluation and
possible tongue exercises. You may also have luck with an Occupational
Therapist with the same background. An oral surgeon may be useful if there
is a need for evaluation of possible frenotomy. These are good friendships to
cultivate for many other feeding problems that may come up in the future.
You should be the one to make the calls and get the necessary information,
be able to give them pertinant info about the baby--You MUST have mother's
permission. If you need further asssistance you can E-mail me.
