"Could you arrange to be given a few minutes on the agenda of the ENTs
meeting (I'm assuming they meet regularly). You can come prepared with some
literature, criteria that indicates clipping is needed, and of course your
observations that mothers and babies are not happy bottlefeeding in lieu of
bf."
Laurie,

Nice idea for Dr. Martin. I would emphasize in whatever ways seems like it
might be heard, that although getting their mother's milk in a bottle is
good, it is not the biological norm for babies, and there are many
differences between direct, normal breastfeeding and bottlefeeding of anything.
Mothers and babies miss out on a lot when they do not get to achieve the
physiologic norm of breastfeeding. This is something it is hard for many to
understand, because "baby is bottlefeeding fine." The advice to wait probably has
to do with a baby who goes on to have problems with eating solids, or
pre-speech/speech, which are considered critical. Breastfeeding is not
critical. :(

Also, Dr. Martin, I don't know where you are, but if you ever want to see
if our local ENT, Dr. Linda Dahl, would be open to teaching you frenotomies
on both anterior and posterior restrictions or whatever you are comfortable
with, hey you can stay with me and not have to pay for a hotel in NYC. I
think this is so important, that's why I am serious in offering the option.
Email me privately if you are interested.

Peace,
Judy
