I have some suspicions about prenatal bedrest and breastfeeding. I
wonder if mom's movement as she goes about her life helps the fetus
develop kinesthesia (where is my body in space), proprioception (how are
my muscles stretched), and sensory integration (how does this all go
together)... I have seen some kids with severe sucking problems after
mom was on prolonged bedrest during the pregnancy, with and without
tocolytics (drugs to stop preterm labor contractions). I wonder if the
bedrest is the cause of this, or just accentuates it in children who are
genetically prone to problems in these areas. Any feedback, anyone?
