There are several things I would do. First, I find that most oversupply
problems really do originate in a poor latch (no, I don't think it is the other
way around most of the time). So, the protocol I find works well is to have mom
feed several feedings on one side while improving latch (sometimes you need
a sling for this, since babies will often stay latched better while moving).
I have the mom take Natural Calm magnesium/calcium supplement --this is the
only one I like well enough. I also have the mom take EFA's and I look at
possible allergens that may be influencing infant behaviour (almost everyone by
now knows my opinion--one stool per week is normal for no baby, or other human
being for that matter). I will also suggest CST if other measures don't seem
to be enough. Finally, my experience with vitex would lead me to use it to
normlize pituitary function in this case. I would use the tincture--probably 2
droppersful first thing in the morning.
