Thanks to all of you who responded with Mary Rose Tully's email address.
What a group of helpful people! I finally made contact and am so grateful
to you all.
Question: I have a mom in the hospital who is critically ill following a
placenta accreta which required hysterectomy. The placenta had even invaded
the bladder wall. Needless to say this mom hemorrhaged like mad.

She is alert and is really planning to breastfeed (particularly since this
will be her last baby) The nurses told her that she didn't need to pump yet
because her "milk isn't in yet anyway." (groan) It sure isn't and it
should be! She is four days postpartum ----no milk, no nursing and no
pumping. She is a multigravida and has nursed all her other children.

Has anybody got any educational references besides the short paragraph in
Riordan and Auerbach's or Lawrence's book? I need breastfeeding/pumping
recommendations? Use of Reglan or sulpiride to augment milk yields?
Syntocinon to improve letdown?

If anybody has any experience or great references, please email me privately
Deanne
