ok, I'm telling all the bad things I have done, but not to patients, just
myself, guinea pig extraordinaire...I put gentian violtet on first
day-immediate response-marked relief within 6 hours, so applied twice a day
only to effected nipple for probably two weeks, yes, yes I should have kept
track, like those wet & poopy diapers, alas I thought I knew what I was
doing-thought I was CURED! The symptoms would linger back (I had weaned,
because pain so unbearable). I would start back with the gv as symptoms
reoccurred, off and on I used gv for the last four months. I know some are
shaking their heads now...I intend to use Dr. Jack Newman's APNO per his
personal recommendation four months late and I am repeating the Diflucan in
larger/longer doses. I am working on lifestyle changes per
Chris-Hafner-Eaton's excellent article,"Good News for Breastfeeding
Moms-treating and preventing thrush", and I am about ready to have our
Infectious Disease Doctor refer me to a yeast specialist. I am just curious
and want to see what Diflucan will do this time around per Jennifers question
about effectiveness...will wait a couple of days without changing anything
else. I still like the idea of mixing gv with zinc oxide until lavendar for
baby's mouth or nursing from treated gv nipple. I have heard the horror
stories, but think the benefits for breastfeeding moms and babies worthy of
trying and watching treatment carefully.
Sorry to be redundant and personal, but this lesson of learning includes me
sharing
over and over...Anne Williams [log in to unmask]
