I have been quiet the past couple of years, dealing with divorce after 21 yr
marriage and terrible aftermath that seems to continue.  But need some help
from all of you terrific Docs and LCs, et al, out there!!

One of our Pediatrician's daughters just had her third baby.  5 wk old boy.
Nursed her 1st two 10 mo and 12 mo respectfully.  He has always told her
there is NO benefit to nursing past a year.  Even though she has heard from
myself and SEVERAL other LC's this is not true.  Well, this time she wants to
nurse longer and already knows she will have to defend herself.  Her
reasoning for wanting to nurse longer is because the baby was diagnosed with
acondroplasia, a form of dwarfism.  I am clueless.  He is an AWESOME nurser.
No problems there.  She wants to be able to tell her Dad SPECIFIC reasons to
the medical issues related to dwarfism as to why she will nurse longer.

Any help is greatly appreciated.  She is so depressed and a little in denial
still but researching as much as she can as to what to expect. He will be of
normal intelligence they do know that.  It is obvious already at 5 weeks he
is a dwarf.  Long trunk, short arms and legs and large head.  So far no
hydrocephaly.
