Blood in the eyes was likely from being vigorously suctioned at birth a
month ago. There are still marks on baby's scalp from the vaccuum. Drs think
blood in the lungs has been happening for awhile. Mom had reported raspy,
noisy breathing to ped numerous times. He said it was normal. At the
hospital they said it was not normal but couldn't find a cause. Goes back in
a month to have lungs checked again.

Since starting Nutramigan baby has diarrhea, nasal congestion, fussiness,
doesn't sleep as well and is hard to settle. Mom is finding just how
convenient breastfeeding was now that she is getting up at night to fix
bottles. I showed her a list of allergy signs and symptoms someone kindly
sent to me and she immediately recognized numerous things that began after
formula feeding started.

Mother was investigated by CPS to determine if she caused trauma/injury to
the baby to cause the single incidence of vomiting blood. She's been
cleared. She is concerned that if she goes against medical advice there
could be ramifications.

In the past two days, mom's supply is disappearing on one side. Doesn't get
anything when she pumps but can manually express a half ounce or so. She
manually expresses everytime she pumps.

I've had a rough day today with bad info given to clients by drs. I really
want breastfeeding education units to be mandatory!
