In The Netherlands BFHI is translated into ''Care for breastfeeding'' and we adapted the UK 7 points for the well-baby clinics.
Still breastfeeding rates after the first month still dramatically drop. Something keeps missing in the care.

Warmly,

sorry, didn't see this before. Yes, this is in recognition of the fact that
breastfeeding support and information does not just take place in hosptial
settings within the health care system of the UK.

The UK has a complementary Community Initiative, which has seven points
which mirror the ten steps.

There is lots of information on the UNICEF BFI UK website. I have also
recently attended one of the UNICEF three-day courses here in the UK, and
they cover this on the course. I was interested to attend the course --
after 20 years' of being involved in breastfeeding support, I found it quite
interesting and instructive. Not so much about breastfeeding, though some
of the hospital practice is always interesting to get updated on, but about
the approach and BFI itself.
