Hi Chris,

Resources in the UK:

http://www.lcgb.org/ is thepage for lactation consultants in the UK. Most
are not in private practice, and the four private practice LCs listed here
all seem to be in the South. However, there is a breastfeeding drop in
clinic in one of the Liverpool hospitals (can't remember which)[it is
written up in this paper: Matern Child Nutr. 2005 Oct;1(4):250-62. Links
Views of breastfeeding difficulties among drop-in-clinic attendees.Berridge
K, McFadden K, Abayomi J, Topping J. -- you could try emailing the lead
author], does this mother not have a number for her local group(s) in her
discharge pack?

I konw volunteers from all four of the bf orgs in the UK discuss tongue tie
and getting help with snipping (if appropriate) so many supporters know few
contacts. The contacts for the 4 breastfeeding support organisations in the
UK are:

The Breastfeeding Network
http://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/supporterline/index.html
Supporterline 0870 900 8787.

La Leche League Great Britain:
http://www.laleche.org.uk/pages/about/contact.htm 0845 120 2918

Association of Breastfeeding Mothers:
http://www.abm.me.uk/bfhelp.htm : 0870 401 7711

The National Childbirth Trust:
http://www.nctpregnancyandbabycare.com/home.asp
 0870 444 8708

She might get a referral through a breastfeeding support group:
http://www.breastfeedingnetwork.org.uk/breastfeeding/support_locator.html

http://www.abm.me.uk/supporte.htm

http://www.thebabycafe.co.uk/index.html

There are people who do snipping, and there are people who are skilled in
supporting dyads in this position. It is a question of contacting and
seeing who is closest.
