E. Rogers and J. Barker talk about the pioneers and settlers, as groups of
people willing to try new ideas or stick with the old.  I also think this
willingness (or lack of it) ties into personality traits according to
Myers-Briggs, Keirsey and Kroger.  It's not just black and white.
