re: the mother relactating but with "bitter" milk

Doesn't the milk composition change quite a bit during weaning and also
during the (roughly) month and 1/2 that milk is still present after weaning?
 I believe this is in Ruth Lawrence's book, although I don't have the most
recent edition.  Maybe this could account for the bitterness.
