Hi Micky and all,
regarding your message of the LLLI Conference:
Wouldn't you think that after 50 years, LLLI would be stronger than ever?=

We are hoping that LLLI will be around for the next 50 years, but as La
Leche League is INTERNATIONAL, the decision not to host another
"International" conference was because the nature of the conference was far
from International. Most of the participants were and are from the USA, the
conference has always been held on US soil. Therefore the LLLI Board of
Directors had to make the difficult decision of removing this activity off
the LLLI Budget. The conference has not made money over the past few years,
therefore it would have been detrimental to the La Leche League
International financial situation if continued. This is one step taken to
ensure that LLLI will be stronger than ever!!

It is the hope of the LLLI Board and the entire community , that there will
still be National Conferences and International Conferences offered by other
entities, such as Divisions or Affiliates around the world including within
the United States.

Hope this helps.
Ellen Shein, LLL, IBCLC and
Member of the LLLI Board of Directors.
