I've seen 2 news articles mention shipments of infant formula going to quake victims.

For example:
http://www.irinnews.org/report.asp?ReportID=49515&SelectRegion=Asia
"Syria on Wednesday sent a plane to Pakistan carrying 40 mt of medicine, infant formula, tents and blankets for the victims of the earthquake, the official Syrian Arab News Agency reported."

However, in this news story - breastfeeding was mentioned twice.
http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/0505770.htm

"Her 1-month-old daughter died in her arms when the roof of her house collapsed while she was breast-feeding."

(I would think the breastfeeding is the norm in these villages, and was only mentioned in the story because it was a Western reporter and/or for a Western news market. I mean, I would think that a one-month old in these rugged areas, would most likely be either held, worn, breastfeeding or co-sleeping with someone, anytime an earthquake (or anything else) happens.)
