This sounds like something we did when mine were babies (40+ years ago).  We
would put the lanolin or whatever on a small square of wax paper.  The idea was
that it kept it in contact with the nipple instead of soaking in to the
clothing.  It both kept it where it needed to work, and it kept mom's clothes
cleaner.  I would be a little concerned that the plastic wrap would not allow
the skin to breath while something like waxed paper was not completely
occlusive.

I am enjoying retirement.  While not income producing, I have been spending much
of my time doing genealogy.  Fun and challenging.  I have a t-shirt that says "I
used to have a life-then i started doing genealogy!"

Subject: Saran Wrap on Damaged Nipples?

I just heard of this being used to cover nipples after putting on lanolin and I
am wondering where this idea came from.  A lot of moms say it worked for them.
It doesn't sound like a good idea to me but I am open to hearing more
information about this if anyone has any expereince using this for healing sore,
cracked nipples.
