I wanted to tell you all that "breastfeeding" has been added to the list of
grounds on which one may not discriminate in my state, Tasmania, Australia.
It has passed both houses, I think unanimously. Yeah! Fellow Australians
may be surprised to hear that the impetus for this came, ironically, from
the Victorian Premier's statement that "some people find it (breastfeeding
in public) offensive".

Our project to identify breastfeeding friendly businesses and mother
friendly workplaces with stickers and inclusion in a directory is also going
well. Particularly now that we can gently suggest that they may not have
much choice ..... Also the "Breastfeeding in public is OK" posters that
went onto all the buses in Hobart for 3 months last year are mostly still
there a year later. Seems no-one has had time to take them down. Its a bit
like brainwashing the bus travelling public - including the school kids,
like my son, who travel by bus twice a day. Oh well!

Still nomail, still overwhelmed with work - all in the cause of
breastfeeding. I miss you all and hope to be back soon.
