Dear Friends:
Kirsten Uvnas-Moberg has published hundreds of papers on these hormones,
as they are a focus of her research. She is a wonderful speaker!
From what I remember of her talk, oxytocin makes mothers happy to do
simple repetitive tasks, among other things.
Prolactin, the milk making hormone, makes mammals protective. The mammal
usually becomes protective of the baby, but if injected, can make the mammal
protective of a kleenex.
Both are attributes essential to mothers.
    Warmly,
Nikki Lee RN, MSN, Mother of 2, IBCLC, CIMI
craniosacral therapy practitioner
