I'm one of those Australians who has used this position. It was recommenced
for mothers with extremely fast flows that their baby couldn't cope
with.Don't remember anything about allowing the fat content to rise to the
top.We always told mothers to cease this position once their baby was able
to cope with the milk flow .It wasn't a position that was to be continued
through their breastfeeding experience.
Don't know that i would suggest it these days,as I work in an Intensive care
nursery and am more focused on increasing milk supplies and getting premmies
to attach.
