Hi all,

Coach Smith here, a little slow on the response to the post about old myths
that refuse to die - like "window of opportunity" for solids and "low-cal"
breastmilk.

Perhaps the "window of opportunity" guy missed his "window" to learn about
normal acquisition of motor skills because he skipped class that day to go
fishing. But wait, you say - you mean there could be a possibility of a
second chance???? Perhaps he could READ THE BOOK? Or did he lose that
ability too because he was out playing baseball while his "reading ability"
window slipped by unnoticed?

You'd think the "low-cal" advocates would at least be creative enough to come
up with NEW excuses for attacking breastfeeding. I heard that one 26 years
ago from my mother-in-law and a health worker in the well-baby clinic.
 Nonsense then, and nonsense now.

I'm truly amazed when otherwise well-educated and presumably intelligent
people repeat such utter baloney. It's as if this stuff enters their brains
through one opening (their ears) and slides out another (their mouth)
completely unchanged, like the new fat substitute that isn't supposed to
stick inside you. Maybe these folks still think you have to wait a half hour
after eating before swimming or you'll drown from horrible stomach cramps.
Bet they avoid stepping on sidewalk cracks too.
