The local county hospital here gives newborns a bottle of water to "make
sure they can swallow" during a mandatory 4 hour separation from mom
soon after birth.  I asked if they could watch a breastfed baby to see
if it was swallowing.  The nurse looked sort of quizzical and said,
"yeah, I guess.  I never thought about it."  Aarrrgghh!
