Jessica:

  a) yes, you have found that starting the bottle early is NO guarantee

  b) try something other than a bottle - cup is the first thing that comes to
mind.

   often what the baby is objecting to is the lack of controll over the
feeding... give it back to her.

  unfortunately she may also be voiceing her feelings about your being
gone... and this has nothing to do with hungry.
