From the posts to Lacnet it seems that some of the changes in IBLCE requirements come from US specific conditions. Maybe ILCA might consider seeing itself as more of an international organisation. A start might be having the international conference outside of the US more frequently. As far as I am aware there are several continents yet to see an ILCA conference hosting.

Maybe moms and babies will make a shift in how they choose to deliver babies, and then the IBCLC certification will hold the respect it deserves on its own in all fields.
