In Mississippi, the WIC program provides an Ameda Elite or Medela Lactina to
"live" at the RM House. WIC recipients are taught how to use and clean the
pump when they are issued a pump kit from their WIC lactation person.... Others
are taught by the hospital's lactation staff, and are welcome to use the
pump (with their own kit) when it is not being used by a WIC mom.
WIC routinely checks and cleans the outside of the pump; monthly when doing
inventory, and/or as requested by a user. We have pumps in Jackson MS at the
RM House near University Medical Center and in the RM House in Memphis where
many of our clients from North MS are treated.
