Yesterday we celebrated Itamar`s Barmitzvah at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. Although it is only mid-April, there was a raging chamsin, a hot easterly wind. The youngest grandchild aged 9 months spent the entire time latched on his mother`s breast, during the ceremony and in the main plaza where a table was set up with some food and drink.
This is historically the holiest place for Jews and from the ultra-orthodox to the secular they come from all over the world to pray and weep and celebrate at this Wall. During this week before Passover the area was packed with people.

Hundreds if not thousands of people walked past this mother and baby and there was not one negative reaction, not by look or word.
Of course the mother was dressed discreetly but it was still obvious what the baby was doing. Instead there were some encouraging smiles and congratulations in addition to those given to the Barmitzvah boy.
