To give credit where it is due I would like to report that the Children's
Hospital in Boston (remember those pre-op guidelines I sent you all?) is in
my experience EXTREMELY SUPPORTIVE of BF. My 17 month old son just had his
minor surgery there and even though I never made a deal about breastfeeding
(in fact I don't actually remember mentioning it on the day but I must
have, or maybe it was just on his chart) it was all 'give him breastmilk,
give him breastmilk' as soon as we entered recovery. We had 3 different
nurses and not a murmur about 'is he still nursing'. What an enlightened
environment! Hooray!
