When I was still expecting my second child (now almost 2), a lady on
one of my lists, who was 7 months pregnant, was hit and killed by a
drunk driver. They were able to keep her alive long enough to
deliver the baby via C/S, but after that, the father pulled life
support. With discussing this with my husband, he said that as long
as my breasts worked, he would have demanded that they keep me alive,
and he said he would have visited the hospital every 2-3 hours as
needed, to allow the baby to nurse if that has been even remotely
possible (and I figured it would, you don't have to move around to
produce milk).

At first I thought it was rather a morbid idea, to keep my alive for
'milking purposes' only, but after thinking about it, I agree'd with
him, that if that were the last thing I could give my children, I
would want it that way. I was just rather surprised that he would
devote himself to being at the hospital every few hours and hold the
baby so she could nurse. :)
