I attended an LLL conference where a mother spoke at an allergy panel about
her daughter who could only tolerate breastmilk, and only if the mom ate a
diet limited to four foods (lamb and rice come to mind as two of the four).
The mother and baby were both hospitalized as they tried to figure out what
caused this child *severe* excema. She breastfed about four years (totally
breastfed), as I recall, while mom maintained strict diet. Now, I must add
that this conference was about 15 years and my mind has probably gotten fuzzy
on the details, and who knows how the hospital/allergist handled things. But
this was so amazing to me that I don't think I'm too far from wrong on what
the mother shared with us.
