Since the old rubber/thick latex shields are still available in some
places, it may be prudent to be sure the mother is using a *thin* latex or
silicone nipple shield.......

I have helped a mom who used shields until she weaned when the baby was 9
months.....and she did *not* want information about learning to bf w/o it.

Way I saw it was this baby was at breast for 9 months......
