I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes when my "baby" was 2 1/2 and doc  wanted 
me to wean immediately in order to take oral medication.  After much  
discussion, we decided that small dose insulin would be the safest and that is  what 
I did until he weaned.  There is always a way and these kids need to  be 
nursed as long as possible to avoid developing diabetes.

Baby Jonathan will be 21 in December  (birth wt. 11 pounds, 3 weeks  early).  
No obesity or diabetes.
