Just a further comment on Lisa Marasco's post. I wouldn't recommend sunlight exposure, especially not in Australia where skin cancer from cumulative sun exposure is an issue, nor with fair skins from Celtic ancestry, nor where there is a hole in the ozone layer. It is also easy to lose track of time, and sun on an area of skin not previously exposed may result in faster burning. Just what we don't need is a touch of sunburn on top of candida! Air exposure, on the other hand, is a good substitute.
In case anyone is thinking of the vit. D issue, it is considered that, in this country, babies get enough sun exposure just going from the house to the car, or through indirect sunlight, to allow adequate vit. D synthesis. A recent study in north Queensalnd deplored the persistence of the belief, among HCPs and mothers, that babies in this part of the world "needed" sun baths. (If you want further information, please email me privately, as this isn't specifically a lactation issue.)
