We often have moms take a luxurious bath postpartum if they're in one
of our tubrooms. Sometimes the partners get in too, and sometimes
there is champagne. I must admit that in these situations the babies
are usually out with the nurses watching our aquarium (they love the
bubbler....). I've never seen a study about postpartum baths, but
being an experiential I've tried getting water into the aforementioned
place. It is possible but takes some interesting actions with your
kegel muscles.....Now I dare you all!!!

Our babies' cords are left alone. There was a study showing they fell
off faster without alcohol - we see 4-7 days of life now, instead of
the 7-14 with alcohol. No citation, too lazy to Google Scholar it
tonight!
