The handout on nursing strike is on the agenda, number 127.

Basically, most babies do fine and even gain weight nicely during a nursing
strike. They may refuse to nurse all day, but they will usually nurse fine
at night. The mother can also try to nurse them during the day when they
are dropping off to sleep (the baby, not the mother), or waking up from a
sleep (the baby). Or sometimes they will get them to nurse if they walk
around with them in their arms and try them at the breast as they calm.
Interestingly, once they start nursing, compression often keeps them going.
