Jan,

I wonder if this mom is subconsciously mourning the weaning process? Is
baby nursing before solids? Exploring her feelings about her baby getting
older and not requiring sole sustenance from mom could play into delayed
letdown. How about lots of baby wearing and skin-to-skin, co-bathing?
Biofeedback for MER, such as music, running water while using RPS could be a
start, have heard this discussed as a way to associate letdown with some other
outside stimulus and gradually mom is able to just think of turning on the
faucet, for example, and she lets down. Could something baby is doing with
suck at this point, too, subtle change since eating solids and not using
tongue correctly, just musing here.

Homeopathy, like Rescue Remedy, before putting baby to breast or pump or
RPS, then using during this might help. Acupuncture, bodywork for mom,
might help kick start oxytocin release and then reduce her stress of worrying
that her letdown is delayed.
