I'm sorry to report that there are only a handful of milk banks in the
country.  Four, possibly five? at this time.

I had hoped to respond earlier when Susan had said that the milk banks this
mom had contacted had "refused" her milk.  I can't imagine there is anyone more
sorrowful about the huge time and effort put into pumping such a large amount
of "liquid gold"  that can't be utilized as the dedicated souls who work in
milk banks.  It is very often a space issue because some milk banks don't have
a large area to use for both work and storage space.

From my limited time observing the Denver Mother's Milk Bank a few years ago,
I know that there were at that time a couple of adult recipients.  I believe
however that even with the appropriate prescription, the adults were given
milk only after all available children's needs were met and if there was extra
available milk at the time.
