Hello wise Lactnetters,

Permission to post from mom. I need help for a full time working mom who
has a 15 month old who has been allergy tested and is peanut positive. He
is negative for tree nuts. His symptoms are hives and red blotches on his
face...no respiratory symptoms. His mom was advised by the allergist to
avoid all peanuts at this time, she ate peanuts and peanut butter during
her pregnancy and until just recently, when she was told to stop. Her
dilemma is that she has a huge stash of EBM in her freezer that she pumped
while eating peanuts and she wants to use it if possible, as her supply of
milk that is peanut free is dwindling. She would like information on how
much actual peanut protein goes in the breastmilk. She is not ready to
wean. I couldn't find a whole lot of information on this. Does anyone have
any information or could lead us in the right direction? Thank you so much
for any help.

Sincerely,
*Sheena Carnes*, BSN, RN, LLLL, IBCLC
