I have a little question. When you are making recommendations about thawing
frozen breastmilk at room temperature, what temperature are you assuming?
Have studies been done at higher room temperatures?

In the Central Valley of California during the summer, room temperature can
be as high as the low nineties to 100+ F if a family does not have a swamp
cooler or air conditioning. I'm a bit concerned telling my parents in my
area that it's okay to leave potentially perishable food out (even
breastmilk) for extended periods of time (6 hours seems a tad dicey to me in
my hot climate).

Pierrette Mimi Poinsett, MD
from Modesto where it is a "dry heat" but you can open your car door and get
a blast of 120+ F heat in your face. This lovely sensation can go from May
to October.
