I agree that trial and error is frequently the answer, as is an almost
intuitive sense of what will "fit" with a given dyad.  This is where we
move closer to an art than a science.  I am not saying that lactation
is only art, but that it can be partly art.

In regards to studying for the exam - conflicting information does not
lend  itself well to the IBLCE testing process.  There is an effort to
eliminate all questions that could be reasonably answered in several
ways.  There is also a process by which a particular question can be
challenged if a "bad" one slips through.
