I know the thin shield you mean; I have *also* seen (and recently) the
thicker shield with the inflexible texture.

The thin shield is pliable. The thick one isn't.

I will check the shops and see if both are equally available. Actually, I
suspect the thicker ones could be outdated stock, or come from hospital
sources.
