One of our pediatricians told a mom of a 15 month old healthy baby that she
needed to start weaning because there was no nutritional value to
breastfeeding beyond one year, that the baby got no antibodies, etc. etc.
The mom admonished him for his lack of education on the subject and for
telling other moms such falsehoods. She also told him she had no intention
of weaning and that she would find a new pediatrician, more breastfeeding
friendly. I love it when mothers do this. Anyone know of some very good
references on the subject that I can show to the pediatrician? TIA. Loni
