Remember these are our "friends" at Intelihealth, the folks at Johns Hopkins
who are in bed with the formula companies. I haven't read the study in the
original journal, but from what was posted, the people at
Reuters/Interlihealth seem to be (deliberately?) misinterpreting the study
by saying that bf during adolescence *increases* a woman's risk of breast
cancer.

"However, the odds ratio for breast cancer was 0.6 among women who breast-fed
before age 20, relative to parous, premenopausal women who had no history of
breast-feeding."

This quote means that the adolescent women who breastfed had a LOWER risk of
breast cancer than women do did not breastfeed. An odds ratio of 0.6 is
lower than the standard 1.0 risk for "parous, premenopausal women who had no
history of breast-feeding." In other words, breastfeeding among adolescents
results in a 40% REDUCTION in breast cancer.

Someone needs to call the folks at Johns Hopkins on the carpet for this!!!
