Marie, I remember asking the president of Medela why they were not ready
with their milk storage bags as soon as promised. He told me that the
problem was that with poor quality plastics the chemicals leach into the
milk. I asked how his competitor overcame this difficulty and he said it
was with an inner lining of nylon. ( I think it was nylon). His co. was
looking for a cost effective method of doing the same thing. And, you can
see his bags are not inexpensive. However, I would not encourage the use of
regular food storage bags for EBM. I'd suggest a phone call or letter to
the various manufacturers of these bags for more info.Lease share with
Lactnet any info gleaned.
