I had to laugh, Nikki, when I read your post.  My hands were silent, but my 
milk flow sure wasn't.  I used to hand express at the first morning 
feeding - baby on one breast the hand on the other.  My husband used to 
complain that the sound of the milk hitting the bottle was waking him up 
and couldn't I be just a little quieter?
I agree that virtually all women are capable of successful hand 
expression.  Don't women outside the U.S. rely more on hand expression than 
breast pumps?
