Hi, I am hoping you can help me out on this one. It has come to my
attention that in my year's absence from the hospital where I was working
(and plan to apply for privileges as a CNM in the future), things have
been backsliding and it is becoming pretty routine for the night shift
nurses, especially, to insist on watching the babies in the nursery for
the first four hours after birth. What I am working on is putting
together a literature review and coming up with any definitive studies
which exist re the value/safety/cost-effectiveness and any other positive
anyone can think of not separating those babies from their moms so that I
can tackle this issue more effectively. I haven't gotten thru my files
yet where I know I have some references that will help. I am familiar
with the work of Gene Cranston Anderson and have quite a few of her
references. Anyone have suggestions re references? TIA.
