I have two questions: 1. Any NY LC's on the list work in a peds office? I
am interested in how that has been set up esp. with reimbursement. I have a
group here thinking about it and I too am interested going from hosp. to
office. Would you e-mail me privately with the details. Thanks.
I have a mom who's milk supply is usually delayed for a couple of weeks.
This has happened with three previous preg. She didn't gain any weight
during pregnancy, had little breast change. It happens postpartum- she
gains weight and milk eventually does come in. This time, she's
experiencing the normal antepartum course - weight up 20# etc. She wants
to better prepare for lactation and is asking if reglan use after delivery
will help her milk come in sooner. Should we wait for a week before
starting any medication and try all of the other usual things? This mom has
unmedicated deliveries, breastfeeds often and rooms in. She wondered about
taking the reglan before the baby comes but I didn't think it was necessary
or would work. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Anyone use thorazine to
increase milk?
