Someone asked how Public Service Ads work. The way the Campaign is set up, 18 CDPs (community demonstration projects) will send the Ad Council's material to local media outlets, who will use them if and when they have space. Any group can send a PSA to the papers but they are constantly bombarded, so they tend to use the best made ones. The Ad Council has a long history of creating famous campaign slogans etc (Crash Dummies, Smokey Bear, Friends DOn't Let Friends Drive Drunk etc et) and are well respected in the media which is why they were chosen for this Campaign.
